Public Involvement Committee Named for Austin Energy Rate Review
A 14-member Public Involvement Committee (PIC) of citizens representing residential, commercial, large industrial and community interest groups has been developed to provide feedback during the Austin Energy rate review. PIC members are responsible for both representing the interests of the customer classes they represent and for seeking consensus with others based on the best interests of the community as a whole.
Austin Energy is reviewing its electric rates which have remained unchanged since 1994. The rate review process will also include input from Austin Energy staff, the community served by Austin Energy, and ratemaking experts.
Beth Atherton, Executive Director of Caritas, represents One Voice on this committee.
